The 2010 pricing guide is listed below for you to estimate the cost of a set of home plans. These are guidelines only. Many plans will exceeded the 3 hours of included design time with the base square footage fees.
Flat square footage rates apply for all new starts; this is calculated by the outside dimension of the main floors. Thus, a two story home would have both floors included in the formula. The 2010 rate is currently $.60 per sqft. Finished basement have a $.20 per sqft rate with 3 hours of constructive preliminary work included.
Hourly rates apply to excessive revisions, multiple designs, electrical plans and other issues that arise from a complicated home design or client explanation. The current 2008 rate is $75.00 per hour.
Renderings start at $150 for B&W. Color $225-250 Typically
Example: A typical builder's two story spec home that's 2315 sqft with a full finished basement would approximately be $1589.00. (2315 @ $.60 for $1389 and 1000 sqft finished basement for $200)
